[Preface note: Some of these may seem obvious, but we have both young and very new players, and calling attention to them may introduce folks to the idea that WoW is more than just a game to many of us.]
By becoming a member of The September Movement you agree to abide by the following:
-
Language/Communication
-
Guild chat WILL be kept PG-13 before 7pm server time. We have players 8 and up,and mature chat during that time should be kept to party chat or whisper. Occasional expletives are okay, content is more of an issue than swearing is. Constant swearing is silly and will be discouraged. Adult jokes or topics are restricted to late night or private chat. Specifically, the word 'rape' is considered offenseive when used to describe in-game activities.
-
Racial, gender or age insults are prohibited, whether directed to fellow members or other players. Everyone has something valuable to offer, not just people the same age/sex/ethnicity as you.
-
Greetings, farewells etc are encouraged in guild chat as they help create a friendly atmosphere.
-
We do not bash any of our members, other guilds or players in public chat channels. If you have a negative opinion you can share it privately with those willing to listen , and if nobody wants to listen , then stop at once.
-
Any member may speak up and ask someone to stop doing something they find offensive. If you are asked to change your behavior, do so, and if you feel you have good reason to dispute their request or defend your actions, resume only AFTER it's been resolved. Stubbornness is a not a virtue, and can get you kicked.
-
Disputes between members should be handled privately, between the parties involved first, then by asking a guild officer to mediate if necessary. Members are expected to behave maturely and show respect to one another, and tolerate differences of opinion. Step back, agree to disagree, drop the subject or even log off for a while to cool down, if needed.

-
Guild member assistance
-
Constant begging for gold, instance runs or other help is not tolerated. Ask, wait for offers, ask again another time if necessary. Use the Calendar here on site and Group Calendar addon in-game - post a desired event, ask for help, and if the timing isn't right, try to schedule it again. See the statement on Patience in the Guild Principles section of our Guild Charter.
-
Offering items or services for sale to fellow guild members is discouraged - use the Auction House or Trade channel. If you are asked for an item you possess, and wish to collect its fair value, say so - you are not obligated to share things with the guild for free, although many of our higher level members do. Alternatively, use the Guild Bank for donations of items you can't sell, and use the website Trade forum to offer materials or services, or request ones you want.
-
Guild resources are available to all members equally, while initiates are restricted in their use. See the Membership & Recruiting section for information on promotion to member on-site or in-game.
-
The contents of the Guild Bank are available to members on a first-come, first-serve basis, and are for members to use to level or improve their character's abilities, NOT PROFIT FOR GOLD!!!! See the sticky post in the Guild Bank forum for further details on its use.
-
Members will be referred to use these in-game and on-site resources rather than constantly asking questions or for help in guild chat.
-
-
Membership & Recruiting
-
Members will obey Blizzard's Terms of Service agreement.
-
Members are expected to be active in-game and encouraged to participate on-site. Members that are inactive in-game for 1 month will be removed. Members are encouraged to use the GuildLaunch profiler to update their character information to their on-site profile.
-
Members are requested to put their tradeskill information in their public note, and their main character's name in any of their alt's public notes.
-
Members are asked, not required,to wear the guild tabard, assistance in obtaining one is available if needed.
-
Any member may attempt to recruit new members, but must do so in accordance with the current membership and recruitment guidelines.
-
Please see the separate section linked in the left column for other guidelines on these topics.

Raid/Instance runs and looting
-
Specify at the beginning of an run if you have time constraints and might not be able to stay to finish.
-
Know the loot rules when you begin a group or instance - if you don't agree with the selected set, speak up or leave before any disputes arise.
-
Group Loot, where corpses are looted round-robin but with rolls for Need or Greed for any items rated Uncommon or above, is encouraged.
-
Need only the things you can use and need, roll Greed or Pass on all others. Avoid disputes and ask if you're not sure - most of the time it's not an issue.
-
You are not required to pass on Greed rolls - everyone deserves a chance to earn loot no matter their role or level in the group.
-
State at the beginning of an instance if you are looking for a particular item, if someone is running you through for it, especially when grouped with non-guild members - though there's no guarantee you'll get it, if someone else Needs it too.
-
Management will look at instituting a form of the DKP reward system at the appropriate time.
-
Listen to, respect and follow the instructions of your class and raid leaders - failure to perform well in raid instances despite counselling may result in fewer or no invitations to raids.
-
-
Violation of any of these rules can result in a warning, loss of chat or other guild privilges, or being removed from the guild, depending on the seriousness or repetition of the infraction.
